Phil and Me
Amanda Tetrault (Trolley, 2004)
Photobooth pictures adorn the front and back covers of this book, an account of a daughter's attempt to come to terms with her schizophrenic father. Amanda Tetrault's father Phil, called by Leonard Cohen one of the most promising young poets in Montreal at the age of 21, now lives on the streets of Montreal. Tetrault documents her encounters with her father through photos and scraps of notes and poems he writes to her. As a description of the book reads, "Photo booth pictures that span the past 27 years form a visual narrative thread."
