Didion & Babitz

This dual biography of Joan Didion and Eve Babitz is told through letters they wrote each other (some sent, some unsent), that illustrate the "complicated alliance, a friendship that went bad, amity turning to enmity."
The photograph of Babitz is based on a photobooth photo now in the collection of the Huntington Library, augmented to add image information to the left and right of the subject, and comes from a sitting that also produced photos used to illustrate the cover of another Anolik-edited book of Babitz's letters.
