For most of us, the photobooth is a shopping mall memory from our
childhood, a diversion while waiting for the movie to start. For others,
the photobooth is an unbiased and silent historian, capturing a
spontaneous moment in four slices of time.
For the group of people
collected in this category, however, the photobooth is much more. These
select individuals recognize the universal appeal of the photobooth and
see creative possibilities in the collection, documentation, and/or
manipulation of photostrips, or of the booth itself.
While Photobooth.net
limits its scope to vintage chemical-based photobooths, we have given
ourselves a little latitude in this area. Projects that can clearly trace
their roots to the photobooth will be considered for inclusion in this
section.
