This rounded-end wood-sided Model 11 Auto-Photo booth fits right in at the Corvette Diner in Hillcrest, a San Diego neighborhood just north of Balboa Park. The booth sits to the left of the stairs, right next to the lunch counter where customers sit on gleaming stools and order malts and fries. The restaurant is decked out in every neon, chrome, and pop art item imaginable, from Warhol-esque portraits of singers and actors to more than one Corvette, a DJ booth, and many street signs and posters from the '50s and '60s. A waitress had dropped something into the photobooth just as I was about to take a photo, so I was distracted trying to see what was going on and smile for the camera at the same time.

UPDATE: According to a Photobooth.net discussion board post, this booth has been replaced by a digital photobooth as of January, 2007, and possibly earlier.
