Austin, Texas photobooths

Thanks for the post - I know those booths get used a lot, and there are a lot of them, so there's a lot to take care of when it comes to keeping those old machines in working order. I'm sorry to hear about the disappearance of the Dobie Mall booth, and I hope Amy's photobooth folks can get those machines back in tip-top shape soon. A little grunge adds character, but too much and you can't even see yourself... Thanks.

well hello! I live in Austin, Texas and I'm not having trouble finding a photobooth...I'm having trouble finding a photobooth that works!
aarrgh! I'm so irritated. it seems that Amy's Ice Cream shops are the only places to find photobooths here these days. that would be okay, I don't mind having to go to an ice cream parlor to use a photobooth but daanng...they all suck!
Okay, I shouldn't say that, I have only used three out of 10 or more. But still, three out of three have been really bad.
tonight I went to the one closest to my house, even though I already know they come out looking SO DIRTY. I thought maybe, just maybe they had fixed it up.
no chance! they came out so nasty that you can barely see what's going on in them. I even purchased an ice cream cone specially for the pictures and you can't even see it. i didn't even want ice cream. :-( boo hoo. I left, figuring I should have known better. later I decided to try the next closest Amy's, thinking SURELY that one will be better.
but guess what...it didn't even come out of the machine! They gave me a refund when I didn't even ask for one because they felt bad that I was just standing there forever. They said the machines are about 30 years old. My guess is they are rarely maintenanced.
sigh. so, I gave up for the day. These are all black and white photobooths.

The only color one I knew of USED TO BE in the Dobie Mall but...no more. it disappeared. I was terribly discouraged when I discovered this. sorry for the agitated post!
